About the Collective

The Beyond Farming Collective is a five-year program which commenced in 2022. The program vision is to strengthen agri-food industry organisations (AFIOs) in order to drive inclusive agricultural transformation. This pioneering program focuses on three strategic markets of Ethiopia, Nigeria and Tanzania.

Providing access to funding and mentorship to test and scale innovations that improve market dynamics and improve the lives of small-scale producers.

Strengthening the collective voice of AFIO leaders, stimulating peer-to-peer learning and brokering partnerships.

The Africa Agribusiness Academy (AAA) stimulates and supports entrepreneurship toward increased food security in Africa. Founded in 2010, the AAA is a pan-African business platform for small and medium-sized agri-food enterprises (SMEs). AAA supports these entrepreneurs by offering capacity development and training opportunities, marketing, communication and networking support and facilitating the collaboration and mutual learning of all members.

KIT Institute is an independent knowledge institute focusing on sustainable economic development, gender, and global health. In our services portfolio, we provide evidence-informed solutions to promote economically efficient and inclusive value chains in Africa, with special attention to smallholder inclusion. We conduct rigorous and tailored impact analysis within agrifood value chains to assess value addition, productivity growth, innovation, and social and environmental issues. Moreover, we develop and conduct capacity development programs and training for local value chain organisations.

As a pivotal force, the Association builds connections among key players in the dairy value chain. Their efforts include organising trade missions, advocating for beneficial policies, and providing mentoring and business advisory services. Additionally, they publish insightful reports that further inform and progress the industry. This groundwork paves the way for a thriving dairy sector.
